NECK PAIN

If you’ve ever experienced neck pain, you know how disruptive and uncomfortable it can be! Whether from spending long hours hunched over a desk, having poor posture, or perhaps concussions (or a few) in sports, neck pain is a common issue that can affect anyone. The causes of neck pain can vary, but they often stem from poor alignment of the neck bones, repetitive movements, muscle strains, or trauma such as whiplash from a car accident—even small car accidents!

Lots of people with neck pain say they feel stiff, have limited range of motion, feel more tight on one side than the other, have headaches, or experience radiating pain into the shoulders, arms, and fingers. As a result, it makes it difficult to turn the head, sleep comfortably, check your blind spot, or do the things you want to do with your family, never mind concentrating on things that need to get done amidst the pain that is felt.

Chiropractic treatment offers a natural and effective approach to addressing neck pain. Once the Roots of the neck pain is figured out, our Sea Point Chiropractors are able to perform gentle and effective adjustments to the spine and surrounding joints. This takes stress off of the nerves that pass through or come out of the neck, can reduce local inflammation, and alleviate muscle tension. When cared for well, Chiropractors not only can provide relief from pain in the short term, but also restore proper structure, function, and movement to the neck. A study published demonstrated the effectiveness of Chiropractic Care for neck pain, showing significant improvements in pain intensity, neck mobility, and quality of life (Bronfort et al., 2012). Chiropractic care combined with exercises, stretches, soft tissue work, and an enhanced ergonomic work setup has helped many of our patients’ necks feel, move, and look awesome once again!
